Structural and Decorative Steel Estimates

Our CSI Division 05 metal and steel estimating services are designed for structural steel contractors, miscellaneous metals fabricators, and pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) suppliers bidding projects across the United States. We produce execution-based estimates aligned with real fabrication practices, erection sequencing, and site conditions, delivering GC-ready bid proposals with clearly defined scope, inclusions, and exclusions.

Our estimates cover structural steel framing, including beams, columns, girders, bracing, trusses, embeds, base plates, anchor bolts, connection materials, and miscellaneous framing components, quantified strictly per structural drawings and specifications. Steel quantities are measured and summarized by member type, size, and total tonnage, supporting accurate material pricing, fabrication planning, and erection costing.

We also provide detailed takeoffs for pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMBs), including primary frames, secondary members (purlins, girts, bracing), roof and wall panels, trims, fasteners, accessories, and coordination allowances based on contract documents. PEMB scope is clearly separated to support supplier pricing, alternates, and GC comparison.

Miscellaneous metals estimating includes stairs, ladders, handrails, guardrails, railings, catwalks, platforms, grating, bollards, embeds, and architectural metals, with quantities aligned to fabrication details, installation requirements, and finish specifications. Where applicable, surface treatments such as galvanizing, priming, or specialty coatings are accounted for per project requirements.

Pricing is developed using current market material rates, fabrication labor, shop detailing allowances, erection productivity, equipment usage, and site access constraints. Consideration is given to member weights, lifts, sequencing, connection complexity, and coordination with concrete and other trades to ensure constructible, field-ready pricing.

Each estimate is delivered in a contractor- and GC-ready format, with steel tonnage summaries, scope clarity, and supporting breakdowns that reduce risk, improve subcontractor comparison, and enable confident bidding and execution across commercial, industrial, institutional, infrastructure, and federal projects.
